THE FIRST STEP
Dr. O’Hara wrote Demystifying PANS/PANDAS: A functional medicine desktop reference on Basal Ganglia Encephalitis for parents and caregivers to bring to their current practitioners. Dr. O’Hara has also developed a mentorship and training program for medical professionals around treating PANS/PANDAS. Unfortunately, I can’t treat every child in need, which is why I encourage you to use the book and program to work with your existing practitioners to treat your child.
ABOUT OUR TREATMENT STYLE
The approach Dr. O’Hara and the team take when treating a patient is one we call wholistic: it assesses the whole child and their health history when making a diagnosis, and considers every aspect of their life and lifestyle when formulating a treatment plan. This is an intensive process where we leave no stone unturned — so be prepared for long consultations, and please bring any and all paperwork and previous health/medical documentation along with you. Our treatment plans typically include dietary changes and supplements, among other interventions.
BOOKING AN APPOINTMENT
If you’re certain you’d like to become a patient and are ready to make an appointment, please head to our New Patient Registration Portal. Here, you’ll find questionnaires and office forms that will help us assess whether our practice is a good fit for you and your child.
Please note: Your forms must be uploaded to the portal—we don’t accept forms sent by mail or email. Once you’ve uploaded your documents, a member of our team will get in touch, and help you book your first appointment.

Dr. O’Hara will review your paperwork and decide whether you and your child would be best served by seeing one of the other practitioners in our clinic.
If you see both Dr. O’Hara and another of our practitioners, Dr. O’Hara will be intimately involved in your care, but one of our other practitioners will be your primary contact.
If your child becomes a patient of one of the excellent naturopaths in our clinic, it will be at their discretion to include Dr. O’Hara as needed going forward.
